Convento de Esperança or Senhor do Santo Cristo Curch, is the home to the magnificent statue of Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres, the patron of the largest religious festival in the Azores.

The museum Carlos Machado in Ponta Delgada is an excellent institution with permanent exhibitions.

The Lagoa do Fogo is one of the island lake located between the city of Ribeira Grande and Vila Franca do Campo.

The Ilheu (Islet) of Vila Franca do Campo is a Natural Reserve, is approximately located 1 km from the coastline and it's a great place to swim.

The Furnas Lake is located in Furnas village. Is a beautiful lake where we can see the Chapel of Nossa Senhora das Vitórias with a style similiar with the European Cathedrals. Around the lake are a lot of green places and some hot springs where people cook the traditional Cozido das Furnas.

Sete Cidades lake is composed by the union of two lakes,  beeing the biggest extinct volcano crater in the Azores with 12 km perimeter. One of the lake reflects the green of the nature that envolves it, while the other reflects the blue of the sky.
